Hello All Our Friends
and Family,
I think we have begun
the process of figuring out our Blog. Hopefully we can now do some
catching up and let you know all the wonderful adventures we have already
experienced.
We will start at the
MTC (Missionary Training Center). We entered the MTC on Sept. 3, 2012.
It was so well organized it was amazing. When you figure they have
4,000 young men and women and Senior Couples all there at the same time, all learning
50 different languages and all needing to be fed three meals a day, it was
staggering. And yet it all sent smoothly.
We had the largest
Senior Missionary group ever, 118. They divided us up into districts and
began the teaching process. These are pictures of our group. All going to
different places - one couple to California, where they will serve from their
own home, another to New York and another to Florida. We were the only
ones going foreign. What a wonderful group.
We were together for
two weeks being taught by young men and women who had returned from Missions
and were now teaching us about serving the people in our missions. We
learned from them, from each other, and from volunteers in the community who
were recent converts and would come in and let us practice on them on how to
teach the gospel. It was a humbling and yet exciting experience.
Our days were long, we would start at 8:00 in
the morning and finish by 8:00 at night. What an experience. We
loved our MTC experience. Being with young men and women was so
energizing and being with so many other Senior couples and listening to their
stories and where they were going was so fun.
Is that Bro. and Sis. Holley in your MTC group? They're from our ward here in American Fork! So funny. If I remember right they're serving in San Diego? Such nice people. I'm excited to read about all your adventures :)
